She took a mind that served her well, solving complex problems with ease. Then introduced a toxic feast, days of banquets to slowly seize. Her lungs, her liver, her memory, all dulled beneath indulgent pleas. Thoughts began to dissolve and drift, like smoke escaping through the trees. She used to speak with certainty, now she stumbles, stutters, and stalls. Her focus thins, her words retreat, She loses the thread or it falls. She misses the speed, spark, and spin, conversations now cease or crawl. A heavy silence in her brain, no rest, no rhythm, no recall. She drank the poison she was served, inhaled old fumes, exhaled past wrongs. Those borders drawn in pure quicksand, each habit hummed a soothing song. She misses the mind she once knew, with jagged edges, sharp and strong. Yet as her thoughts began to fade, her heart grew deeper, wide, and long.
